Default 98 xjr overheating

Overheated at idle. Replaced water pump and thermostat and figured as long as I'm in there I'd put a smaller sc pulley on it. Now it blows all the coolant out on the highway. It can idle all day long and drive as long as I don't boost it. Passed a chemical analysis of the coolant that checks for exhaust gases so it should not be a head gasket. Any ideas?

Blows it out where?

Get all the little hoses back on to the throttle body?

Sounds like you need a cold engine pressure test.

. . . and welcome to the forum!

I agree with test point. Or, figure out where the coolant is coming from. I bet you cracked one of the connectors up there on the front of the engine. And relax, I seriously doubt this has to do with the boost. Especially if it does not show "hot". You're sure the thermostat is in the right way, right?

The tank in the left fenderwell, right? If so, do you understand my comment about swapped bypass tubes on the expansion tank?

Yes the tank in the front passenger corner. I don't see a comment from you about swapped bypass tubes on the expansion tank. Is there suppose to be a tube coming off the bottom of that tank? Mine doesn't, only has the nipple that the coolant is coming out of.

Have a look at this:

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...d-fixed-60665/
The crossed lines can :happen: on the expansion tanks, the one where the coolant cap is.

I assume you mean driver's (left side) or is there a Corpus Chriti in the UK? :<)

Good Luck.

A fail reservoir cap or one not sealed completely will cause the overflow tank to overflow.

There is a hose coming from the center bottom of the reservoir.
