Yes- that's the drain plug- it has an o-ring.

What hose are you asking information on? Is the octopus - 5 way hose or the radiator hoses or the hoses that run under the intake manifold???

We can help if you can tell us what hose you want to change.

Hello Jimlombardi,

everytime when I switch on the heater my Jaguar loses cooling water. I think the problem is the Octopus-hose but I'm not sure. What do you think about it?

Part # is WJ106001J (Radiator Drain Plug seal) - Jaguar Classic Parts shows that 2 of them are required??

Here is the weblink to their parts listing showing the seals:

You probably will be able to find the coolant leak by using a pressure tester. You might be able to get a pressure tester (loaner from your local auto parts store??) or buy one.

Once you locate the coolant leak, then you can replace the components causing the leak.

In my case the leaks were from the Norma connectors on either side of the engine rather than the octopus hose.
An O-ring fixed the LH one and I was able to splice in a plastic connector for the RH one. The procedure is described somewhere on the Interweb.

I've googled around but I'm missing the key wording apparently... Can you or someone out there point me in the right direction for curing a big time leak from the infamous Norma connector on my '00 XJR? I care more about a good working fix than keeping everything original (for what it's worth).

You *can* try to repair it with parts and hoses from the auto parts store, but I wouldn't want to go through the trouble and have an old section leak or burst after the repair, so I ALWAYS opt to spend the $$ to buy the octopus hose. An I am one cheap fellow.

Might I also recommend removing the supercharger at the same time and replacing the hoses underneath? They are very inexpensive, and it makes both fixes easier if you do it that way.

Might I suggest you open a new thread? That way we can work with you on your specific issue.
