Default abs retrofit to xj12 from x308...

Hello boys and girls...
I have an xj 1998 v8 3.2 which has been relegated to a parts car for my xjr and my xjc. I am wanting to put the abs system into the xjc. I have been advised that the rear hubs are interchangeable to integrate the abs reluctor and as a bonus outboard discs.... . Anyhoo been advised the front is not useable so i have to find xjs or late xj12 front stub axle assemblies. So couple of questions. How does the abs in the 98 xj8 vary from earlier xjs & xj12s. I think it also incorporates traction control too... does the jaguar have lateral sensors and steering sensors also and finally has anyone paved the way. Just to complicate things i will also be running large rotors with ap racing 6pot calipers front and 4 pot rears. Added to that is the module capable of driving 6 pot fronts and 4rears or do i need larger capacity? As i have the whole car and a 2000 xjr i can look into it in more detail, but this seems like a great place to start....

Best of luck, but I think you are going to find that a lot of computer modules need to communicate with each other for the decision making portion of the ABS system to know what is happening and function properly.

As some have found out with engine swaps, what used to be easy pre-computer days, is now a very difficult proposition unless you are willing to rewire the entire car with the X308 modules and such.

Again, good luck, I hope I am wrong and you can get it to work for you.

If it were me i'd look at taking the ABS system out of an EF or EL Falcon, it's pretty much a standalone system that is independant of the Engine Management system.

You could use the Jag wheel speed sensors with the Falcon modulator.

Yes i bought the cd and wiring schematics off ebay and it seems quite interconnected. Traction ecu abs modules and the such with what looks like a data bus also. Ive only briefly looked so far. Does anyone know how many teeth are on the reluctor wheels of the late xjs and the x308?

I know guys were using abs computers from sn95 mustangs as they are pretty much a standalone abs unit.
