accelerator cable
Hi guys, an easy one for you :
1999 XJR 75k mls.
I have some play in my accelerator pedal, maybe half an inch or less, which I am assuming is due to the cable. So is tightening the cable something I can do myself ? If its easy can you talk me through it ?
Any comments appreciated.
Cheers

Should not need adjusting.
If you choose, remove the two 20 torx bolts securing cable to throttle body. Pull throttle plate open where cable attatches and remove cable from throttle body. Rotate black mounting plate to adjust cable and resecure everything in reverse.
I forget which way to go but it is threaded so should be obvious once you are there.

Its really irritating. The rest of the car is so "tight" and well put together, that little bit of play when I put my foot on the pedal spoils the whole Jaguar feeling.
I think I need a psychiatrist rather than a Factory Tech [&:]
