Activating phone in 2001 XJ8

Default Activating phone in 2001 XJ8
I just purchases a 2001 XJ8 which has a Motorola in car phone and I cannot get a straight answer out of anyone (Verizon or Jag Dealer) as to how to activate the phone. Does anyone have a suggestion?

I suspect that a 9 (10) year old cell phone is not compatible with the current cell technology.

That time frame was analog, we are now into 3rd or 4th generation digital.

test point is correct. The phone in the '01 is analog and I don't know of any provider that still offers analog service.
