Hi,
Ive got a 1999 XJ8,
The aerial snapped off, i think/thought i have removed all of the old antenna, however the new replacement antenna will not fit.
it still protrudes about 2" when pushed in as far as it will go. is there any way of removing the shaft that houses the antenna to get a better look? or any suggestions to what it could be or what could be done?

Take the motor assy out, split the case halves and pull out the last piece of cable that is still wrapped around the take-up reel.

thanks for the quick reply. however, its not the cable that is stuck. i have already taken apart the assembly. i think there is possibly still a piece of the metal tubing stuck. but i cant see anything or get at it however.
