Default Air conditioning not working 2002 xj

I have recently bought a 2002 sport. The air con didn't work, so I had it re-gassed. All was good, for a couple of weeks, then over night it stopped working. I've checked the fuse, and the low pressure, both are good. Has anyone any suggestions?

Most likely, the system lost/leaked the charge overnight. Did you charge the system or did a shop? The AC system will not run if the charge pressure is too low to protect the compressor.

The shop regassed the system, and the low pressure is bang on 55psi, perfect. I assume that a leak in the high pressure side would cause the low pressure side to fall a little.
I have read about the expansion valve filter blocking, but can't find how to check this? I don't think there is moisture in the system, as it was perfect for a couple of weeks after degassing.

You need to know what the high side is and the low to properly diagnose the system.
Is the compressor engaging?
The expansion valve is not easy to access. You don't want to change it unless it is bad.
