Default Air conditioning out.

My ac started blowing hot air on my 2003 XJR. (X308). The fuse (#8) was blown and new fuses blow when replaced. Checked ac refrigerant and it's full. Mechanic thinks it's the compressor clutch coil. They only sell the whole compressor/clutch/coil combo together unfortunately I think. My first thought was also the compressor coil but after looking at old threads on here some have mentioned pulley malfunction or belt tension problems. A week ago I had a mechanic replace a bad pulley and belt for my supercharger as it stopped working. I'm wondering if he removed and reinstalled the belt driving ac to get to all that. Maybe it's just a coincidence the ac went out a week after that work or maybe not. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.

The X308/X100 uses a DENSO 10PA17C A/C compressor.

Blowing fuses is mostly a shorted component or component drawing excessive amps. I would look for maybe a pinched wire in the area of previous work. You can also unplug the compressor if possible and then activate a/c to see if fuse blows. Yes would mean a pinch wire i would think. If not then coil/clutch is bad or even compressor locked or very close

to get to the compressor plug you take off the left front wheel and wheel liner.....then you can access the plug....on the R models the subframe is real close to the compressor...the liner is straight forward to remove...a few plastic pop clips and a few bolts
