Default Air temp sensor

In the past on other vehicles with auto temp control I have had to replace the ambient air temp sensor. I have noticed this summer I have needed to increase the auto air conditioner temp to keep the cabin from getting too cold and the heater is not blowing warm enough air. I have looked on downloads for the auto temp sensor and haven't been able to find the location. Could anyone could help me out on this?
Thanks, Dave

You access the sensor by reaching thru the bumper at the splitter vane.Attached is a drawing from the shop manual

You might want to look at the interior air sensor instead of the exterior one if the temp regulation isn't working properly. The fan for it could be dead, or maybe it's having other issues. You can check if the exterior temp sensor is functioning by using the exterior temperature reading off the climate control panel - if that reading makes sense for the outside temp then that sensor is working.

The interior air temp sensor (as well as humidity) has another name, which I can't remember now, but it's located behind the trunk opening button. Those slots on the side are actually vents for it to pull air through and take readings.

^As above, I had a similar event over the summer, 'why do I have to max or min the climate to get a reaction?'
luckily I'd a drinks straw (even though they're trying to ban them in the UK!) pulled over and blew down the slots, climate came back on line....the fan clogs the sensor.
