I am in the middle of replacing the alternator on my XJR, and I ended up clipping the wires rather than fight the connector, which was already cracked. There are two very fine wires coming from the car wiring harness and I'm wondering which color goes to which pin on the connector to go into the alternator. The replacement connectors all see to have generic connector wiring colors. I have one on in or.
It's a 3 wire connector but only two wires are utilized. I can't seem to find a picture of this on a car. I'm trying here since it looks like I might have to go through a bunch of crap to look at the wires on my XKR and hope things didn't change.
Sounds like it should be replaced anyways...I'd buy a new one.
I have bought a new one, the wiring colors are what I'm wondering since I broke the connector to where I can't tell which wire was on the left/middle/right of a connector. I am wondering so I can wire up a new one.
Thank you all for your responses! Tonight I put my rebuilt alternator in, along with my low mileage supercharger (complete with oil change and new coupler).
