Default Antenna question

Hello, just two days ago I picked up a new to me 2000 XJR. The car came to me with the antenna mast broken off. I thought I could hear the motor working so I bought a replacement mast (just the mast, no motor). Well it seems like the motor is not working either. I'm trying to troubleshoot beginning with seeing if the motor is getting power with a volt meter.
Is power only supplied to the motor when the radio is turn on and off and the antenna is supposed to be moving? In which case I'll have to turn it on run to the back of the car and try and get a volt meter on it before it stops. Or should I see a constant supply of power? What is the correct voltage? 12v?

Here's a link where you can get the electrical schematics...JagRepair.com - Jaguar Repair Information Resource
But, you don't have to run to the back. Just check continuity and put it on sound so when you turn it on it will tone if you have it correct.
I hate the mast antenna and went this route...https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...ve-one-103359/

Try the fuses first.

Yes that is a good idea. I always forget to check the simple things first and go straight for the complicated solutions. Thank you.

Which fuse is the antenna motor on? All of my fuse boxes are unlabeled.

That link I provided for jag repair has owners manuals, schematics, tensioner replacement and many, many sources of info for almost anything you need to do to your car for you. Just use the site search and you will get a list of pdf's, TSB's and/or training manuals.

Yes thanks you, I clicked the link, looks like a lot of good links there, I just haven't had time to really explore through them yet.
