Default Any experience with U1261 Instrument Cluster Code?

So, I'm still dealing with the security/remote not working and the battery drain issue.

I picked up the ACI, autoenginuity knockoff scanner and for the $$ it is awesome. Beats my original ST05 AE interface.

I scanned all modules and to my surprise no codes in the SLCM and BPM, but the cluster throws U1261.

The drivers rear door shows U1135 but I doubt that its related.

Any ideas how to fix/troubleshoot this?

That code I've never seen, because I can't delve, can you link the autoeng/ACI link?

The cluster as you know is a big link in the can-bus, everything runs through it. Have you fitted a RealGauge recently? Maybe reseating the lower connectors on the IPK after cleaning the contacts with contact spray.
What's your battery drain after say 30mins locked? I've read 20-30mA is normal for security system feed.
Also what's the alternator returning at the battery? (when revved) I've heard of slack aux belts not generating.

What are the symptoms of the SLM? and battery drain Adam? More info as ever helps.

I got the ACI from the ecutool dot com.

I did fit the real gauge but I was getting that code before.

Basically my remote doesn't work. The security light flashes rapidly. The car will not start after a few hours due to the battery draining.

I got a different BPM and SLCM from a junkyard($80 shipped). I know it came of off the same year XJR but the VCATs label was missing. The part# are the same.

So far I plugged in the new BPM and right away I can tell that things are better. The security light acts normal and the remote started working.

Here's the thing thou. It appears that the headlights kick in as soon as I turn the key in the ignition and the light switch doesn't affect the lights. Also the rear fog light switch doesn't seem to do anything. I haven't noticed anything else. Any ideas? Programming?

The U1261 code seems unrelated as it is not going away and doesn't affect any of the issues.

DRL.

Either you have a BPM that was on a car from Canada, or the previous owner elected to have them turned on in the BPM programatically.

So once I get the IDS working it's probably something I can change right?

In IDS I think it's as simple as enable/disable.

It's a stretch but is it possible the 'auto lights' feature goes through the SLM?

Is your car equipped with it?
