Default Anyone had experience with this SDD JLR Package?

Hello,

While searching for a better code reader and one that could program keys, I came across this software on Ebay. The description reads as follows:

The complete diagnosis system that is used to troubleshoot and Diagnose all LAND ROVER RANGE JAGUAR CARS problems and it’s the official LAND ROVER software. It can configure, reprogram, initialization of new components, program, perform guided tests, read or erase fault codes in any of the systems including AirMatic, AirBag, SRS, EIS, Transmission, ETS, BAS, and all of the control modules.

SDD JLR IDS Full Program For Land Rover Jaguar 2021 Version + Remote Install ( I made it into a tiny URL since it was massive)

Appears you will need the cable from the OBD port to a computer and this software to interface with the car. If someone that has used this could comment on how well it works and if you could program keys that would be swell!
Thanks much!

Interesting, but I would verify the years this is compatible with. I saw a similar one that only went back to 2005.

And with my latest knowledege with buying VCM. Be absolutely sure with yourself that you are going to buy 20 years old automotive tool. It is most likely broken internally in someways. Or it is cloned pos. In any case you're lost your money. Miracles can happend too..

Vauxi has had some experience with this. This seller is on Ebay, so if it doesn't work you can get your money back from Ebay.
The real trick seems to be....getting the supporting hardware (working) that is required in order to use the software.

I had a DREWTECH Mongoose PRO (about $600 'back-in-the-day') and SDD 130.
It would usually revert to Legacy IDS but I don't work on cars later than about 2004 so I sold id and got VCM and IDS 118.5.

I still use my WDS but it is SLOOOOW. (Windows 98 Pentium I 233mhz)

I've bought and sold a dozen and never got a dud or a clone.

If you buy the JLR VCI from Bosch which isn't all that expensive I think it works somewhat ok in legacy mode. Don't pay these guys for the full calibration files since you don't need them anyways.

Still not as good as a GNA600 + standalone IDS or an old WDS.

I spent a while messing around with many different versions of IDS/SDD to try and get it working with my X308. I found that anything newer than 130 or 131 I think would fail to launch into legacy IDS on whatever machine or VM I tried. Thanks to motorcarman, after a lot of trial and error I got one of the earlier ones working (v125.3 if I remember right?) and just stuck with that... For our old cars there's not really any benefit to a version newer than that.
