Default Best adhesive for defrost vent/grill ?!

On my quest to remedy as much cabin noise as possible I found the left side of my defrost vent to be shattered. Sourced an excellent shape used one, I've read they snap in as well as were glued when they came from the factory. What adhesive would one recommend , persistent UV & heat exposure considered.

GorillaEpoxy (@ Homer), you may have to touch it up (though its clear) unless you can apply it just from underneath. I used the one type (GorillaWeld) to help make an adjustable alternator bracket, ...holding strong. That one has 3 times the holding force as JB Weld (4250 lbs).

Yeah my first thought was a JB product, but I've enjoyed the Gorilla tapes so I may give that brand another whirl. It's amazing how much noise those brittle cracked vents account for, since I removed it , so nice in there lol.

Try E6000. It’s very strong, flexible and I heat tolerant.

Flexibility is needed as if & when I have to remove it I don't want an adhesive that will strip away the dash coating. That looks like I could get it to peel off if need be. Thanks !

E6000 isn't a bad adhesive, though being exposed directly to the sun may dry it out? I've used it on in house and non exposed items with good results though.

haha you, too? These grills drove me nuts. They are also very brittle and brake super easy. I used black epoxy repair. Now they rattle a bit. Now I will probably add a bit of the black gooey weather strip adhesive they sell at Autozone.

I see how it clips in & so forth but I cannot get the end that fits into the middle piece to slide in, I don't want to break it, anyone had any luck replacing these ?!

Thanks

About 12 yrs ago, ...if I recall, they popped out (in pieces...lol...had to use a vacuum to snorkel out some runaways) but the replacements simply clipped in nicely for me.

My problem is I'm trying to get the left piece in without removing the others, as I know they'll disintegrate on contact lol.

Put duct tape on the vent to hold it together when removing it.
