I heard some if the kits come with bolts that are to long.

That is probably not accurate. Most tensioners do not come with bolts, as I recall, but the gen I original bolts are too long for the new tensioners. So, buy new bolts at the auto parts, online, or at the hardware store or grind off 3 or 4 mm from your old bolts.
