best wiper blade for the 2001 XJR
any input on the best wiper blade for the XJRs? i have a bosch but am not so happy with it...the middle works fine but the the top and bottom of the blades don't seem to touch the window very well...what are you guys using and anyone have a view on the best wiper blade for our cars?
It's alot to ask a wiper blade to clear an entire windshield. I use the Rain-x ones. they do fine as far as I'm concerned. Let me know if you actually find one that clears the whole thing top to bottom.
This has been an on-going search for sometime now... I went to the dealershp and requested the factory arm and blade and still!! missing the corners.
What I found was physically bendig the ends to get th proper curvature to clear the edges - was the final fix.
I'm not sure if all aftermarket arms and blades are able to be manipulated in this way, but I had no problem with the factory piece.
I get over 99% coverage now.
You might have to play with it for a bit to get the right adjustment.

I use flat wiper blades on mine, they are a lot better and they wipe the whole of the wipe area. They are available in retrofit form on ebay: JAGUAR XJ8 1999-2002 RETROFIT AERO Flat Wiper Blades | eBay
They are cheap yes, but they work so well and will easy give a year of service. And don't forget here in the UK it rains a lot!!

Over the years this has come up many times.
Jaguar -- many many years ago sold the inserts but I don't ever remember them available for the x300-08's.
You need a soft blade -- many have had scratched windshields from some aftermarket blades. Also common with 911's when the incorrect blade is used.
I always use the factory blade -- never have a problem. You can get the inserts -- they are Bosch. I bought them through Autohaus while trying to get some for a Mercedes w210 -- same rubber --made in Germany as is the factory blade.

What causes problems with wipers a lot of the time is automatic car washes. They spray wax all over the car and glass and the wipers absorb some of it, which makes the wipe all streaky. I use the Aero ones like I linked on my Jag, My Dad's MG, My Mum's Fiesta and my Coach. Most modern cars come fitted with them, they are good.
