Default Bought another one!

So... it's almost time for my son to start driving, and I found a 2000 XJ8 for a price that was impossible to pass up- broken timing chain.

Brought her home, removed the covers and YEP broken timing chain. Removed the exhaust cam and checked for compression (maybe, just maybe the pistons DIDN'T kiss the valves??)

Fingers crossed! If the valves are OK then you own a whole lot of car for, I am guessing, very little cash. Plus, you know how to fix everything else all ready
Let us know the verdict

...Aaaand compression an all cylinders so no bent valves! Onward to buff out, clean the interior and replace the tensioner/chains.

Change your tensioners people! Here is the set from my latest find- I replaced them, the chains and she purrs like a kitten. (took quite a few minutes to start, I'm a-guessing the cylinders were washed pretty good.
