Boy, fuel pump failure is really sudden.
Drove about 60 miles and parked the car in my mother in law's driveway. About 2 hours later got in the car to drive home and the car started but was running roughly. Drove out of the driveway and it just would not go. Was able to get the car back on the driveway idling and it just wouldn't start after several tries. Figured it was the fuel pump. Had it towed to a local Jaguar guy in Maryland and sure enough it was the fuel pump. I'll take advantage of the time at the shop to have them check the upper tensioners. I was planning to do the latter anyway. My surprise is that the car did not exhibit any symptons prior to the fuel pump failure.
