Default Broke timing chain

i just found out today my timing chain broke i think its the secondary one which is the shorter of the two i think but its on the drivers side...how screwed am i now that this has happened?? I didnt drive it with it broken that i know of because the car ran awesome, turned it off in a drivethru and then it wouldn't start back up.. Is there any possible internal damage if it wasnt run??

The secondary (short) chain is always the one that breaks, and the resultant damage can be easily assessed but not predicted. Since the engine was not running at speed when the failure occurred, you may not have bent any exhaust valves when the exhaust camshaft stopped turning. You can remove the broken chain, remove the exhaust camshaft, and crank the engine over to perform a compression test without risk of further damage and to find out if any exhaust valves are bent.

I'm not sure that is a short and simple answer loudjag. Is it on?

I typed more, but chose to leave that opinion out of the reply.

Loudjag, the answer is either by researching the topic on this or another Jaguar site, or buying the service CD, and then by acquiring or fabricating the necessary special tools to set the camshaft timing. You could also ask the guy who you spent your money with.
