The drivers side door handle on my 2001 XJ broke. Literally the pplastic on the handle snapped. No problems with the mechanism before that (i.e. not hard to pull...).

A couple questions:
1. Suggested sources for the part?
2. Do the handles from same period XK8 also fit? They look very similar.
3. Has anyone tried replacing just the broken piece (see pictures)?
4. What models/years had chrome handles? thinking about problem finding matching color - or replacing with chrome one.

Get the replacement cable from Welsh Enterprises and change that at the same time.
That will fail next...... Welsh Enterprises has the gaskets too. Sold in pairs. Not cheap, but great quality.
