Default 99 VDP Electrical

I am currently having a electrical issue with 3 different items and am unclear if they are related. If anyone can point me in the right direction as to where I can look or meter for clarification?

1. My starter is slow cranking.
2. Windshield wiper arm moves aprox 1/2" then stops.
3. Passenger door lock will not lock anymore.

Hi David,

1. Check/charge battery then clean and tighten connections on stater motor.

2. Remove wiper arms and motor. Check linkages and lubricate. Strip down motor, lubricate moving parts, reassemble and bench test.

3. Remove door card. Check linkages and lubricate. Test micro switches for correct operation. May need a new switch or mechanism.

All of above will cost nothing more than time and patience.

Hope this helps,

Start by having the battery load tested at one of your neighborhood parts stores. Also have them check for codes, but report the codes here, don't go by what the generic code reader says.

Follow the electrical link in my signature, it will help you track down the starter issue. I think the other two are unrelated. Are there any other issues?

No other issues that are apparent at the moment but it seems as every time I fix one 2 more show up. I guess that is the game we play when restoring cars right!

I checked the grounds in the link you sent ATV007 and they are all good. Prior to these issues I was tracing vacuum lines and I replaced the upper bank 1 O2 sensor. In order to do this I needed to remove the Throttle Body, is there a possible ground that I could have removed and not realized in that area?

Jagrepair.com has the entire wiring diagram manual. At great resource. Go to the site and click on Electrical, OBD Codes section, the first manual under that title. Memorize
it and then come back to the forum and teach the rest of us.
