Default Broken Inside Door Handle - Cable Attachment

My inside door handle broke on my car. It is the actual handle and not the more common broken cable.
I have read everything I can find to read on this forum as well as searching YouTube videos but can not find an answer to my question.
If I buy just a replacement handle without the cable attached how do I reattach my existing cable to the replacement door handle?
I would prefer not having to get into the headaches of replacing the cable on the door latch end.
Thank you in advance to anyone who can help.

You can see where the metal broke at the point of cable attachment.

I think the cable end fits into a slot on the door handle mechanism: try this

Door handle link replacement c/w pics...FAQ

From back in 2012
So buy the handle

You should be able to slide the T end of the old door cable into the metal slot on the new handle, as long as the cable is intact. I've replaced these cables on a few XJs that unfortunately broke on the lock end. The new cable easily fit into the existing handle.
