I am about to paint the car so I have front fenders off and front rear bumpers off how do I remove the chrome inserts been searching the forums to no avail for x308. Car is 2000 xj8 thanks

I have not had to remove those chromed inserts myself, but I just grabbed this photo from an ebay listing and it shows what appear to be several clips on the underside of the trim that must fit through slots in the bumper cover. It seems that the clips along the front/outer edge slide in horizontally, and the ones along the rear/inner edge go in vertically. Perhaps gentle prying will work them out?
