Default cannot open hood

Heres a problem i have never had before, the hood will not release when the interior lever is pulled. the wires (2) are connected at the lever and seem to move when the lever is pulled. originally only one side didnot release. after holding the lever in the open position as i tried to release the left side neither side will now release. any ideas on how to access the hood strikers?

Below is a link to one of the many discussions about the hood release. Basically if you can't get the cables to do it you will have to drill a hole in the wheel arch liner and go in thru it to release the latch.

You can do a search for "hood release" and you will find a load of info.
