CAR Reset Process after turning off and pulling out the key
hi this is a weird one...and i did do a big search to try and find it in another post, but couldn't...does anyone know the reset process the car goes through when it is turned off and the key is pulled out...besides lowering the antenna the car also seems to reset its systems? or something similar, i am having an issue with my stereo volume and cell phone that seems to be corrected after i turn my car off and let it sit for about 10 seconds...then i turn the car back on and the problem is gone...if i don't wait about 10 seconds the problem doesn't go away..so the car is doing some kind of reset and it needs about 10 seconds to do it...anyone know exactly what it does...i am trying to pin point the problem i am having and understanding the reset process will probably help me pinpoint it...thanks all...
for details on my stereo, cell phone problem you can go here...i didn't want to cloud the thread with that issue

As answered in the other post, some component relative to the volume control rotary encoder is likely going into thermal shutdown, and recovering during the cool-down of being off... or a bad solder joint (which can be thermally intermittent also) on one of these components.
