I’ve recently switched the front shocks to bielstien sport and had to put on the new top plates due to a narrower shaft on them. My question is when I order the rear’s to replace the CATS to standard sport do I need anything else ie new top plate? Or will it just be a straight swap. Thanks
Just to break the diagram from the above link down a little further:
The isolators are the same p/n for either version, but the washers and the nut at the top are different, to account for the very slight difference in shaft diameter on the standard vs CATS shocks. There's also an extra washer at the bottom of the "top" section of the shock for the standards that the CATS didn't need since they had a top plate built into the shock.
To sum up, you need part #s: 8, 15, and 16 per side at a bare minumum. That doesn't give you the bellows over the shock, which would also require #s 9,10, and 11 as well if you want to go that route.
Or if you prefer actual part numbers:
8 = MNA3543AA
9 = CCC7132
10 = MNA3548AA
11 = CCC7139 (* You could also just use a zip tie or clamp here, if needed)
15 = CBC1594
16 = LM21158 (* This MAY be included with the new shocks, I can't remember. Never hurts to have spares tho)
