Can someone please confirm that the subject bushing is the same for all types of rear shock absorbers (conventional and CATS). The vendor descriptions aren't very precise.

PS I followed Motorman's scissors jack removal technique and it worked great.

 

I bought a bunch of MERCEDES spherical joints and they fit all the rear dampers I have tried. (CATS, Sport and Comfort)

 

Thanks, Bob. I just finished the fronts and used your method to remove the left rear. Also used your part number list for the various "foam" rubber isolator bits. Had my fingers crossed the lower spherical bearings would be OK...no such luck. I ended up buying Lemfoerder replacements from Barratt's (at a big mark up I suspect). I'll know better next time...oh wait, I'll be taking my dirt nap before a next time.

...for the record, if doing an internet search for a German bushing, the main part number on the factory box for the Lemforder item is 37518 01 ...with a "cross number" C2D4013. SNG has them @ $43...decent price for the Lemforder part. A URO part is in the $25-35 range.
