I have a 98 Vanden Plas which I just got running again, I had a mouse nest that was in my air cleaner and destroyed it. I have removed the mess but now I have an check engine warning with a message "restricted performance" any ideas?
Thanks
Thanks
If you hook up a scanner to the car to retrieve fault codes, it will say "mouse karma".
It may also help direct you to the fault. In the meanwhile, you can get a can of CRC MAF cleaner and clean the mouse whizzz of your Mass Air Flow Sensor.

Thanks Guys,
I got the MAF CRC cleaner and cleaned all the mouse whiz out of the MAF sensor and the hoses. Then I used carb and choke cleaner on the throttle body and used a rag to get the mouse hairs out. I disconnected the battery for 40 mins or so re-connected it and all the warnings have cleared. I have driven the car about 60 miles since then and no more warnings.
Thanks again.........
