Every time I touch the brake pedal on XJR I get the check rear lights message and it goes out as soon as I take my foot off the brake, I have tried a different brake pedal switch changed the complete rear light holders and bulbs from a different car.

All the bulbs are fine the electrical plugs are clean is there anything else that may cause this?

 

If you are sure everything you have changed is good then try running a separate ground wire to see if that helps.

I'm confidant the parts I changed are good the car they came off did not have this problem. Do you mean run a new ground from the tail lights?

 

Yes, it is something the early XK8 owners did with the same problem. Worth a try to see if it works.
