Climate control makes odd noise.

Would a 2001 XJ8 have a cabin air filter? My car has just started to make an odd sound with the climate control. I can adjust the fan speed and it will adjust. The noise becomes louder. I can also change where the air blows to and that seems to work fine. It sounds almost like its making some sort of fluttering sound and that there is some sort of resistance to the air flow. Initially, I noticed what appeared to be a little more dust than ususal when I tried turning the fan up. Is there an easy way to look for where the air supply comes in to see if maybe something is making an obstruction. I once had to clean a mouse nest out of my range rover. I dont think its that because the weather has not been that cold yet. As always, any suggestions appreciated.

Super Sport,
Right church, right pew, different occupant. Hopefully this guy sorted his problem out, the post was six months ago. But several times I have found big chunks of insulation foam from the fresh air flaps stuck in the squirrel cages, and the results are similar. A big enough piece, and you'd swear one of the blower motors is going to exlode. The whole dash will vibrate, and it's all good after you fish the piece of foam out.
