Trying to find the source of a coolant leak. Its above the tranny so I used an endoscope to see what I could see. Poked around and found this funky looking think. A hose to what? Is this the source?
Not sure where this hose goes and hoping i can get a finger on it. If I can I've got an idea but its gonna be tricky to pull off but better than pulling off the intake manifold which is unbelievable. Really?
Also spotted a connection that could be leaking. No idea what it is or connected to but the threads appear wet at the top. Its in the vicinity of the hose.
Looks like the hose is a pending blowout or is it just me? It drips slightly and overnight it'll leave a dime sized spot even though I'm not driving the car. I'm guessing that if it's under pressure when the car is running i may have gotten lucky spotting this now.
MNC6733AE is the oem part number. It is commonly known as the octopus hose within the jag community. It’s hard to tell from your pictures but, I believe this is what you might be looking at? Water/coolant can travel so just be certain where the leak is coming from.
NNE3944BA Is the oem part number. If the octopus hose needs replaced, you’ll want to get the 3 way tee also. Rockauto doesn’t sell the 3 way tee is why I sent 2 different websites.

Thanks guys, I believe you're right about the parts. Comparing the photos the yellow wrap in my pic corresponds to the wrapping on the new part. And thats probably the 3 way that rots cause its lookin like something rotted on mine and it too matches in placement.
What a damn shame about the circumstances and timing of events. Wasn't but a few hundred miles ago this engine was laid wide open for the tensioners. That's when this should've been fixed. I'm not ready to tear into this. Certainly won't be driving far from home.
I can't get my hands up there either. Barely able to get the camera in. I see fluid at the bruise and at the edge right below it. May be others but this is not good.
Going to let the car run a bit while it's up in the air and see if I can capture some video of fluid leaking. Not much else I can do right now but watch out for the damn to break. That's a when not if. No trips for this jag.
Put a new battery in it today with hopes of fixing the communication error and put the limp mode behind me. Find out soon enough.
You'll need to remove the throttle body to get enough clearance to change the 3 way. There's a metal brace that holds that hose section which is screwed into the side of the throttle body mount. You can remove it or just wrestle the 3 way and attached hoses up and out of the holder to get the clamps off.
