Coolant system - 1998 XJ8 VdP
How easy is it to install the hoses that enter underneath the coolant bottle? What would it set me back for labor if a professional were to do it? It looks complicated:http://www.autopartsnetwork.com/cata...ose_year:1998_
Can this be done from above, or will I need a ramp? Although the part looks complicated, installation looks easy enough - just hard to 'get at'.
The hose immediately underneath my coolant bottle looks to be in bad shape. After passing a pressure test and not finding exhaust fumes in the coolant (it was tested by a Jaguar dealer), I took the liberty of inspecting every inch of the coolant system as I still appear to be loosing some coolant (perhaps after every 1000 miles). Sure enough, just distal to the first bend on the hose right underneath the coolant bottle, I see a piece of duct tape! No doubt placed by the previous owner to temporize a situation.
I really appreciate any help, diagrams etc.

It is not easy or quick but time consuming.
Take off the upper aft shields from the engine compartment and you should see the hose routing.
The medusa (or b*astard) hose has quick disconnect couplings which make it a bit easier.
You might think about repairing a section only if you can localize the leak (usually at the couplings).

It looks like once disconnect the two bolts holding the upper coolant bottle, you have more room to work. Sound about right?
