Default correct lower ball joint..always a project

Happy Friday

I posted a thread about the ball joint 2 weeks ago and I ended up getting the lower ball joint from AutoZone. Today my guy Artie/my mechanic was able to tap out the old one with heat torch and hammer.

HERE comes the problem, the new one I got was too small in diameter and the control arm can not hold it tight ... why is just finding the correct ball joint for our X308 becomes a project of endless nightmare???!!!!

I am mentally exhausted. ...

autozone was never my first option , I was looking at partgeek and they went out of stock and also they have a very interesting shipping system. Their parts are sold in categories and you cannot combine shipping if 2 parts belong to different groups.

I got all of the upper and lower ball joints and control bar bushings from partgeek except the lower ball joint.

Are your LCA's OEM or aftermarket? I had some MTC (aftermarket) control arms where I tried to replace the ball joint with a URO part, and the bores in the LCA were maybe 0.5mm or more oversized vs the URO's, so they just fell right in.

My mechanic got the lower ball joint from him supplier. I think that's the lemfonder/ZF brand and it is also loose to the original LCA.

i am lost and frustrated. My guy said the since the weight of the car will sit on the lower ball joint. That would be fine?! Really

What am I missing here
