Default correct TCM Part number needed

The local Jag dealer diagnosed that I need a new TCM (well one that works anyway). But the TCM that was in my 2003 Vanden Plas had been opened and may not have been the original one for my car.
So my question is what would be the correct part number for my car?
Can this part number be derived from my serial number or does one size fits all?
I remember looking at the TCM and it was built in Hungary, so will a TCM from a 98 to 2003 be the correct one?
I see Jag used a Bosch unit but did they use anyone else?
I would like to order one from ebay but want to make sure I get the right one.
Cheers
RAM

Just to be sure on the P/N, go in the trunk and remove the spare tire cover. Pull up the carpeting on the left side. There's a white sticker called a VCATS. It has the P/N to every module in your car. Look for TCM and next to it is the P/N.
