Default Crank Shaft Timing Sprockets

Sorry if this has aready been posted once. I removed the front sprocket and thought I replaced it the same way it came off. After reinstalling it, I noticed the teeth on the two sprockets were not lined up by about 1/2 a tooth. If I flip the front sprocket thay line up. There is a dot mark on each one, but I don't know if it means anything.

Thanks For any help.
