Cruise control not available & now ABS alert followed by performance inhibiter Stype

Jaguar suggested i replace battery some months ago to enable cruise control on my 2007 4,2 V8 S-type .
Did not do so until panel alert that performance inhibited - after an ABS alert.
No difference after fitting new battery 3 days ago. After leaving battery terminals disconnected overnight, the PERFORMANCE INHIBITER seems OK but still no cruise control.
STILL HOPING FOR CRUISE CONTROL FIX.

Welcome to the forums. You should probably post on the X200 forum, but I suspect the brake switch could be at fault. It probably has two microswitches like the X308: brake light and cruise control.

Below is a link to all of the details for replacing the brake switch. The switch is actually 2 micro switches. One for brake and one for cruise. Another thing with the MY XJ8 you have is that the cruise is also controlled by a vacuum canister so check it and the hose also.
