Question Dash End Panel

I have a 2000 Jaguar XJR. The dash end panel on the driver's side has come off with the plastic fitting on one end broken. My question is - what device does the end panel cover? There is a switch accessable via an opening in the dash and the switch seems to rotate to three positions, but I don't find any reference in the car documentation.

Thanks.

Jim,

Ignoring the probability my steering wheel is on the opposite side to yours, is this the panel you mean?

Please post in the Intro section with some details about yourself and your vehicle.

That is the panel (below the air bag sticker) that I am talking about. There is one on both ends of the dash, but only the driver side seems to be accessable from inside.

Jim,

I've moved this thread to the X308 section.

It's a while since I had my XJ8L and the memory is a bit dim on what's behind those panels!

Current owners are better placed to help with the switch.

It just covers the bolts that the dash brackets bolt to. End of.
