Why please does my year 2000 xj8 bang sometimes / jerk when I put it into reverse, this really started after I had the oil and filter changed in the ZF gearbox, I used the LT71141 oil as recommended, thanks for the past help, my cruise control did not work, it was the wrong brake light switch.

I would be concerned maybe that the fluid level is too low? That would be the first thing I would verify anyway...

Could be low level. A lot of others, myself included have had an issue where the trans will jerk (sometimes rather violently) when putting it in reverse. However, I have not opened my box yet to change the PRV.
