Default Cruise Control Cancelled

Hope someone can shed some light on this. I have a 2003 2.5V6 which is fitted with cruise control. When I press the set button you can feel it engage but within seconds you get the message "Cruise Cancelled". Code read it tonight and the only code is P111 which is system pass. I would bank on it being the brake switch but I am open to suggestion. All the other steering controls work normally.

You may well be right but it could also be the cruise cancel button - there'd need to be a bad connection or some such.

I don't know if there are yet other ways it could happen.

Hi Rob
Having a similar issue, the CC cuts out as soon as it begins. Did you work out the fault in the end?
Cheers

Does your car have adjustable steering and peddles?

I only say this because if the pedals are too far back the brake pedal won't be able to return to it's resting place and it'll stop the cruise from working.
