Hi Sean:

Thanks for your reply.

So, then, without a press... how long a job would you say a pro mechanic could install both the top and lower shock bushings?

And have you replaced them yourself?

Thanks very much,

SirJag

Hello everyone, I have a 1996 Jaguar vanden plas. I started a project today to remove the lower shock bushings.

The old lower shock bushings seem to be seized onto the housing. I tried to pound it out with a hammer and and small pipe, but it has not moved one bit.

The outer ring of the bushing is made of some type of metal, but it does not come out. It seems to be stuck in there. What can I do to get the outer ring of the old bushing out of the lower shock housing?
