Do the same inherent problems exist for the 01XJR as the 98XJR?
I am looking to buy a 2001XJR and was wondering if the same inherent problems exist as my 1998XJR. Or have those problems been corrected...
Is the 01 a better car?

Hi Road Racer - In response to your question, I can't offer any hard data, mostly just opinion.
In my case, I stalked the Forum for about a year before I decided on and bought my 2001 XJR. It seemed to me that many of the problems I read about that affected the '98 and '99 models didn't seem to occur in the '01-'03 cars. I chose an '01 because I didn't want the CATS suspension in my first X308.
Good luck!

Pretty vague statement.. If you define those problems, we can maybe answer your question
Honestly, the Nikasil and timing chain issues get discussed about once a day, and are extremely well documented. Try a little research, and then come back if you have any questions.
