Took my son in law for a spin today -- he was shocked at the power of this car. His daily driver is a 2010 Camaro SS, so he's used to speed!

I would not have bought an XJR if I didn't intend to DRIVE it. It's my daily driver, and there's hardly a drive without WOT at some point. Those Goodyear Eagle F1 Asy2's grip like crazy, hope they'll last till next summer...

I am certain my '98 VDP had never been opened up, when i bought it 2 yrs. ago with 34k original miles. I do open it occasionally. On several occasions I glide up to larger numbers and it is a thrill... (Though got my first ticket earlier this year, clocked into 3 digits!

I have also done some quick pick up using the shift manually. Though I hear a large "GLUG, GLUG" when I give it the gas..., it does have great power and speed!

I go through a tank of gas every 2 days i work 8.9 miles/14.3 kilometers away from where I live, I drive once to and once away. Pretty sure the math doesn't add up, ha. Really like my xj on the highway the sport is pretty responsive feel a bit of a difference with the K&N. Many plans on upgrades mostly aimed at performance. "i wanna go fast" Ricky bobby

I've had mine a couple of months now.. front passenger door had a large dent across the entire width of it, but managed to pull it out with a £1.00 dent puller (VERY happy with that :-)) but what I love is the ability to either cruise almost without the car even working at it, OR to just put my foot down.. from standstill it can out accelerate oncoming cars from behind, and about 5 miles south of where I live there's a 1.5 mile long steep hill which every previous car has managed but without spare power, and usually with a gear drop - my XJ8 is glorious.. just put your foot down and you feel it accelerating fast despite the incline.. and in my mind that makes it the safest car I have ever had because I can overtake when I need to even at 70mph or so, safely and quickly..
This is the only car also that I actively enjoy driving.. really enjoy.. and wierdly despite having all the power there it is the most calming car ever from the moment you sit down.
