Checking my cars suspension, i cant find any leads(wires) coming from front shocks top(under hood) or bottom side(fender well).I thought it was standard on vdp's or is that not until a later year? the shocks, bellows, and bushings seem to be stock and i dont see any loose(disconnected) wires any where.How can i confirm what the car is equiped with? thanks

 

if you have no wire into the top of the shock then you have no CATS, I don't think CATS was on any XJ for the US Specification cars until 2002 model year.

FYI I have an '01 VDP S/C with CATS

 

I have a 98 VDP - No CATS.

 

In the US, CATS was available on the Vanden Plas Supercharged starting either in 1999 or 2000, and XJR starting in 2002.

The non-supercharged cars (XJ8, regular VDP, and XJ sport) never received CATS.

2000 VDP S/C here, with CATS.
