First, this is a great forum I just discovered, so thank you!

Some valet apparently messed up my XJR driver door this weekend. It had been smooth as silk to open and close now it makes a loud "thunk" at each of the two stopping points, apparently catching on the black guide that goes into the door from the body of the car.

I looked around the forums to see photos of the door with the door panel off before I undertook that job, and discovered that taking the door panel off won't give me access to the guide.

Anyone know how the guide works? Can it be moved back into position? All I can figure is that the valet swung the door open way too hard and overextended it maybe.
