Default Drivers door window not working

I've just replaced the drivers door inner handle and cable and now the drivers door window will not operate, all the other windows are o.k and it worked perfectly before, any ideas?
Car is a u.k spec 1998 XJ8 4.0

Just taking a guess, I'd think the Electrical connection to the Window Regulator inside the door panel was knocked loose, or not reconnected.

Connections checked and all good I can hear a click from inside the door when the switch is pressed so it looks like the motor has failed.

Unplugging anything on these cars with the battery connected can easily introduce gremlins. When I replaced the cable on my VDP, I had odd problems with the windows as well. I did 2 things; first I took electronic cleaner to each connector in the door to make sure the connections were good (and no pins were pushed or bent). I also did a hard reset/reboot of the electrical system (disconnect battery leads from the car and briefly touch them together). My windows worked fine after I did this.

If the system was working fine before you started the project, it is very likely related to something you did or touched. Eliminate the easy and cheap fixes before you assume it is the motor.
