I have an after market head unit with a higher powered amp & speakers I notice I only get my sunroof/window issue when there is a heavy load on circuits IE loud music w/ my son & cronies using the passenger power windows @ the same time.

Now we have a volume "safe zone" for the radio, no more problems lol.

I just wanted to reiterate post #25 I made earlier. The window/sunroof condition seems to happen when I unlock the drivers door with the key and inadvertently hold key clockwise for a split second that starts the activation of the global windows but quickly turn it back to vertical cause I did not want all the windows down. I guess it gets a funky little power surge or something. So yes it took several fuse pulls until I developed a muscle memory not to hold the key hard over clockwise when unlocking the door with key.

Yes these cars' are very sensitive to surges I've found. Once I was in the midst of a hurricane-like sudden downpour, me & my passenger both hit the window buttons @ the same time & the sunroof opened about an inch lol.

Default X308 reboot battery issue for window and sunroof faults

Tbear1165, I think its time you get a new battery. This should resolve it permanently. these cars are very susceptible to voltage drops and amps. If your battery is in good condition then once you have done the hard reset/reboot then it should work continuously.
Regards

Every time I lock the doors manualy with the key, it locks the sunroof and drivers door will not roll down. The battery is brand new.

My battery's fully charged & new but every time I manually lock/unlock I get the window issue. Is there a fix ?!

There is a single serial data bus wire that runs through every ECU including the stereo head . As you rewire the connector adapter for a different head there may have been an error or incompatible head unit . The X300 Jaguar / Alpine AJ9500A head is different then the 2 different heads in the X308 series . The difference between the 2 X308 units is not between premium or standard option setups . But the key is the original head connector .

Will take some research as I have the training book on the digital / multiplex systems on the Jaguars covering yours

Can't find the suspect data wire on X308 wiring guide but I do know on the X300 it is the common all through car Orange wire . I could be wrong .

Here is the multiplex training doc if you can find some information in there :

http://www.jagrepair.com/images/Trai...-JAG_10-08.pdf

page 17 shows a non - multiplexed signal to the X308 stereo head connector IC11 pin 1 ( in the wiring guide fig. 16.1 and 2 ) as the speed up / volume up

In the big picture of the problems as I read the whole tread appears the data bus is corrupted , rejected or interrupted . The hard reset resets it to zero state but the fault reoccurs later for quality of power related variables .

Thanks I'll hunt it down but it's definitely related to manually locking/unlocking the driver's door w/ key. Guess this is my cue to reprogram my FOB & use it lol. Took it apart when I first got the car, to clean contacts etc. & never got back to it.

Default Still works!

Hi, my 99 decided that the sunroof should be closed, and that I do not need the drivers window to open. It must be worried about the neighborhood I am in. Looked it up, found this post and reset the computers.

everything is back to normal now.

thanks!
