Dying transmission and Lucas transmission fix
Hi guys my transmission was making grinding nosie from 1gear to the second downshift was fine then after about an hour gearbox fault came up and the transmission was on 3rd gear it has 150k miles original transmission fluid was very low by 3 quart and burnt I didn't pull the pan at this mileage I only have luck with the zf5hp . So I add half bottle of Lucas transmission fix to the mix and now the grinding noise thankfully gone but from 4th to 5 th gear there's slight delay and some vibration but it's working and for the mileage it works fine . Will update if something happen
Not criticizing your choicebut this stuff is crap. It contains agents that swell op your seals internally a bit giving you some help against internal fluid leaks. It also contains friction modifiers like motorbike oils do so your clutches can hold a bit more.
Any transmission where you want to use lucas is a dying transmission and is on its way out sooner or later. The 5HP24 issues are well documented and if properly adressed, this is a good box.

Well if it's goes out I will get low mileage transmission 500$ not bad deal but this still running some weird noise and harsh downshift it's on the way to give up probably
With a little caution along the way these trannys can last. Some members report
mileage into the 300k region with the original still in place. I suspect there is some
major differences in the way a transmission was used during it's lifetime that make
a great deal of difference. While I would not recommend changing the fluid of a high
mileage example, fluid levels are one thing that is critical I am unaware of any
additives that can be trusted, however I am sure there are probably a few.
