Default Egine not firing

Earlier this summer I decided to remove and replace the original ignition coils on my 2000 xj8 with new ones due to constant misfiring problems I had been having. I had already replaced the plugs about two years ago and it ran great until earlier this past summer when it started acting up. When I was done replacing everuthong I tried to start it and It cranks but does not fire up. I used the car only a few days before and it ran OK, except for the misfiring problem. Now it just cranks but nothing else happens
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Have you checked for any DTCs? (Diagnostic Trouble Codes, aka check engine light codes)

Pull a spark plug and see if you have fire during the crank first. If so, then you can
check the relief valve to see if you have pressure in the fuel rails, and if both of those
are good, then check for a compression issue.

Yep, ...that goes without saying. A bore wash could be the whole problem.

You have a dedicated fuel injector and separate ignition coil relay

You can put your finger on them to feel them click closed so the injectors and coils are powered

Check for fuel pump relay clicking

On the other side of the fuel variable you may have put the engine in a bore wash condition , this would accrue easily if you lost your ignition

The 98 is the same as the 2000 in this aspect
