Default Electric Seat Fault

Hi, i have a 1998 XJR.

The drivers electric seat will move if the use the memory function in the door panel, but the switches on the seat wont move it, i have replaced the seat switch to no avail, it would be ok if any of the memory settings were mine but they are not they belong to the 8 foot tall previous owner haha, so please help if you can?

Regards,

Chris

If you've swopped the switchpack and still no joy, it could be wiring to the module under the seat. You'd have to unbolt the seat and check the wires going from the switchpack to the module.

you can check if it's the module by using your passenger one (if that's behaving correctly) just swap it for the drivers and see if you get the seat to work. Then its a case of ringing around the Jag breakers like Eurojag etc for the same year module, you'll have to get it programmed to the car, that's a trip to a main agents and the use of the IDS software....
