What is your battery voltage while cranking? Low battery voltage will spin the engine but not spin the electrons in the ECM.

What drove you to replace the ECM? Any codes?

. . . and welcome to the forum!

Thanks and bare with me as I'm new to this...,

Battery voltage measured 11.4 volts during cranking in engine bay.

Had fuel pressure, checked ignition relays from Jaguar wiring diagrams....purchased ECM on e-bay for $50. Still no spark at plugs.

Here is the big 'no start' check list: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/g...d-first-30792/

The FAQ sticky at the top of the XK8 forum has a world of links to threads discussing the issues suggested by the 'car won't start read first' post.

You say that you 'checked' the ECM power relay. Did you swap it with another one? Most of the relays in the car are the same.

Default Testpoint...

I changed out the EMS control relay in the ENGINE MANAGEMENT FUSE BOX,the Ignition Positive Relay in the ENGINE COMPARTMENT FUSE BOX,and the EM26 Ignition coil relay.I measured 12V between terminals 1&4 on the ingnition coils with the key on( voltage from EM26).This is when I decided to change out the ECM module.

Default XJ8 cranks-no spark

Thanks to everyone for your help!!! Changed out the crankshaft sensor and the engine started instantly!! It appears that if the CPS is out of specs there will be no spark generated even if no codes are displayed. The car runs better than it ever has with NO ERRORS!!

What's up all , I'm new to the forum but I've read a lot of threads pertaining to xj8. I have a 2000 xj8 vdp with over 200000 mile , had it for about two yrs never had real problems except rear u joints and wheel bearings which gave out 3 times but I think that was due to me putting 22in wheels on ,but any way I have the no start issue I've replaced spark plugs twice crank sensor and both knock sensors but still no start . I'm getting fuel as I can smell it and I checked valve don't know exact psi I recently checked for codes and got codes for all of the coils plus p1111 p1367 p1368 p1000 having a hard time believing all the coils would go out at same time also I tried the flooded car procedure but got nothing please give suggestions or any input thanks in advance
